Many of the older buildings are listed and the town is designated a centre of 'outstanding archaeological and historical interest'. The Roebuck Hotel is a friendly and comfortable hotel located within easy reach of London and Stansted Airports. It is also an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area, which is rich in English heritage and traditions.

Originally built as a private home in the nineteenth century, the Roebuck Hotel has been refurbished with all the modern conveniences you would expect. We have 49 modern and fully serviced en-suite bedrooms, and the honeymoon room. Cannons Bar, with satellite television, offers the ideal spot to relax and meet friends and colleagues for an informal drink before dining in our Hamiltons Restaurant.

Situated on the A1170 just half a mile north of the town centre. The hotel is 24 miles north of London with access to the A10, London to Cambridge Road, less than half a mile away. Junction 25 on the M25 is just 15 minutes away via the A10.

By Air

Hatfield House
Hatfield House, the Hertfordshire home of the 7th Marquess of Salisbury. Built between 1607 - 1611 by Robert Cecil 1st Earl of Salisbury and Chief Minister to James I, has been in the Cecil family ever since.

The State Rooms of this celebrated Jacobean House are rich in paintings, furniture, fine tapestries and historic armour. The extensive garden was originally planted by John Tradescant the Elder in the early 17th century.
